Masalodeh Rangup

No need to buy  this anymore!! The taste is there!!! sedap!..
I doubled the ingredients as 2 handful is not much..(indirectly telling that my hand is quite small and cute but fat)..haha...nice for afternoon tea, breakfast or supper...thank you the owner for this recipe!

Ingredients:-
2 handful of channa dhall (soaked overnight)
1/2 big onion diced
bird eyes chillies/ dried chillies/red chillies/green chillies-sliced thinly(I used dried chillies)
curry leaves sliced thinly
1/2 cube ikan bilis stock
1/2 tsp fennel -(I used powder)
1/2 egg
a pinch or two tapioca flour(to 'glue' the mixture-not too much- if mixture can be easily formed then no need this)

Method:-
Dry blend or pound dhall (no water). Don't have to be too fine. In a bowl mix dhall, onions, curry leaves, ikan bilis stock, fennel, egg and tapioca flour.
Add in salt to taste and MSG. Mix the mixture and make a handful size balls till finish. Deep fried in hot oil and making sure one side has reached its crispiness then turn or else it will break.
Fry till cook and ready. Serve hot with green chillies..krap krup..!

Ikan Masin Goreng Sambal

This dish goes very well with the sayur pisang...I am not sure what you call this in English, but its some kind of salted fish.. wash and fried, put aside and stir fry chili paste, onions, garlics some tarmarind juice a bit of salt, sugar and MSG. When chili paste has done, add in the salted fish and stir well. Ready

Tauhu Goreng Telur Asin

Found this recipe in the net...a few veggies recipe from this blog that I think I would try...the recipe requires just egg yolk, but since I felt that it would be a waste to throw away the egg whites, I used 3 egg yolks and 1 egg whites, which I think you dont have to add salt cause the egg whites already gave the saltish taste...

Ingredients:-
200g firm tofu (I used 2 pcs and just fried these)
3 salted egg yolks (I used 3 egg yolks and 1 white)
1 tbsp dried shrimp
1 stalk spring onions
2 slices ginger root
2 tbsp oil

Seasoning:-
180ml stock(I used chicken cube)
1/2 tsp salt (didn't put this cause the salted egg already salty)
1/4 tsp white pepper
1/2 tsp jiafan rice wine(of course didn't put this)
1/4 tsp sesame oil

Method:-
Cut the tofu into small dices and poach in some boiled salty water, drain and set aside.
Mince the soaked dried shrimp, chop the spring onions and ginger root. Heat a wok with a tbsp of oil, add in egg yolks and scramble until cooked. Dish out and set aside. Add another of tbsp oil, heat again, add ginger and spring onions, stir fry till fragrant. Then stir in chopped shrimp, tofu and the seasoning. Cook until the sauce are well absorbed by the tofu. Sprinkle with egg yolks and dish out.

Ayam Masak Kicap

Simple dish for the kids...chicken breast in soy sauce...I fried the chicken first which has been marinated with salt and turmeric powder, then just slice onions, garlics, ginger and chillies and stir fried them adding a mixture of sweet and black soy sauce and squeezed some lime juice ....the fish dish confirmed tak makan ...they rather starved themselves then eating fish!!..either chicken or eggs...itu ajelah ...

Sometimes I've got to force them to eat fish...Iqram and Marsya not so much of problem, cause I will 'cubit cubitkan' isi ikan tu dan gaul dalam nasi dia orang , Iqram will spooned himself and Marsya will just eat when I fed her...but for Hasif ada banyak punya songeh...he only eat fishes that dont have so much bones..like stingray or mackerel..

Two Ways Molten Chocolate Cake

Got this recipe, while I was browsing the Internet looking for the right 'MOLTEN' recipe..the last molten was not right for my taste (not sure about others)...but I think I got the steps correct...its just that the recipe doesn't work for me...

As for this recipe, the taste is right! But since the recipe requires to use metal rings,(which I don't have) I used the ramekins..which are a bit thick, the baking time was longer than the original instructions... I will definitely going to buy the metal rings, as this will not be my last time doing this...

Meanwhile, I will be away for a short holiday...wont be hearing from me..for the next couple of days...take care. Miss Me OK!!!...

So as I speak, my telephone line is off...just because I want to update my blog...no wonder when I accessed my blog or other web page, I've got problem opening the windows...very frustrating...need to do something about this, but got to wait for Mr Hubby...cause I only know how to use but not the technical and 'backstage' procedure...

Leek Goreng Udang

If I went to the market or supermarket or even hypermarket...I looked at the vegetables, I just cant help myself looking at the same old vegetables all the time either kailan, kangkung, chye sim and many other leafy veggies.....and everytime I saw this leek, I will asked myself what can I use to cook this with?..or how to cook this...so last Sunday, I picked this up and just dump inside my groceries basket..and decided to go for it...ah! just try and cook this and see how it taste...looking at my 'confidence' in picking up the leek, a chinese lady asked me...'excuse me, how u cook this ah?'..with a 'naive' looked I said ' sorry this is also my first time trying ' hahaha she laughed...so to play safe I've decided to slice some garlics and chillies (no need onions cause this veggy already taste like onions) and add prawns as the 'perencah' or stock... the rest was history... the taste oklah, still acceptable lah..

Jagung Rebus

A healthy breakfast today...ate 2 corns..enough to make you full till lunch...Frankly I am quite moody today...reasons?...only my family knows...should I tell you?..well..can I just say that it got something to do with blogging...something got to do with leaving comments in my shout box?...

First of all, the reasons why I blogged about food cause I love to eat..love to cook..love to see my kids and family finishing whatever I cooked...the joy is just unexplainable...I am still learning as I speak...by opening this blog, doesn't mean that I am an expert or a professional in cookery...

By having this blog too I would like to share what I have done and experience in cooking, making and baking certain things...the TRIAL AND ERROR of cooking (as what I wrote in my profile)..is what I would like to share with you guys....sometimes, it really boost your moral when friends and visitors comments on your 'works'...there goes the same, if somebody, commented on what you did not succeed, adding to leaving an 'advice' without introducing yourself, it just make your moral low....

Maybe now I understand why and how Kakasma felt, when she suddenly wanted to stop blogging...well I almost felt the same too yesterday...after being coaxed and advice by my family members..I've decided to 'get up' from my 'bad reality dreams' and took the 'challenge'..and would like to proof to 'somebody' that he/she is wrong!!!!(Whoever you are)...

Definitely, those words I will remember till I die!...but I will take that as a 'positve' advice and will improve myself in whatever I do...thank you again (whoever you are)...

Warm Molten-Centred Chocolate Cupcakes

A disappointing attempt!...Looked nice from the outside but did not meet the ISO standard in taste....heheh..

The texture, was coarse (kasar) a bit 'hard'(keras) and very brittle (peroi)...As for the filling I should have put more chocolate cubes in the centre instead of just 1, cause I've used a bigger paper cups instead a smaller ones...so bigger paper cups, should put more chocolate squares inside... The chocolate in the centre, it should be flowing down, not stuck there!!!! huwahaha...

Since not enough chocolate filling in the centre, I've added 'Smucker's Sundae Syrup' to add the chocolaty taste ...ish..ish..ish. ..'Alah Kassim'..!!

Ingredients:-
4 tbsp soft margarine
55g caster sugar
1 large egg
85g self raising flour
1 tbsp cocoa powder
55g plain chocolate
icing sugar for dusting

Method:-
Put 8 paper baking cases in a muffin pan, or place 8 double-layered paper cases on a baking sheet. Put the margarine, sugar, egg, flour and cocoa in a large bowl and, using an electric hand whisk, beat together until just smooth. Spoon half of the mixture into the paper cases. Using a teaspoon, make an indention in the centre of each cake. Break the chocolate evenly into 8 squares and place a piece in each indentation, then spoon the remaining cake mixture on top.
Bake the cupcakes in a preheated oven, 190 degrees Celsius for 20 minutes or until well risen and springy to the touch. Leave the cupcakes for 2-3 minutes before serving warm, dusted with sifted icing sugar.

Kuih Bakar Pandan

Last entry for today...made this yesterday night..as usual for Mr Hubby's breakfast..recipe here ...Coincidentally, I saw Ika and Hana also had almost the same kuih..hehehe..maybe its the 'International Kuih Bakar Day' today...

Basically the mould for this kuih bakar I bought in JB the other day.. I bought 2 kuih bakar moulds, 1 no. 10" spring form , a 8x 4 x 4 inch loaf pan, a few muffin cups, a 7" chiffon cake mould and a few cooking books...spent about RM$100++ for those things....
My next 'target' is to get the fondant roller with patterns, chocolate patterns mould for cake decorations (Tan See Fong's products) and some others lah..
